PAINTINGS & ILLUSTRATIONS

I began drawing and painting as a hobby at the age of 13. By the time I was undertaking my degree in Physics at university, I found myself spending more time with paintbrushes than with a calculator in my hand! It was then I decided to find a course that combined both science and art. I abandoned the lab for a career in Architecture in 1995.

Initially, I had an interest in portraits, working in pastels, chalk and graphite, gradually progressing to using watercolours. I then experimented with acrylics to create abstract and expressionist compositions. More recently, I began to capture the rich heritage of Nottingham in vibrant urban scenes, working in acrylics, ink and watercolour.
